Hey guys....
When I logged on today, I got a windows message saying that I have 1 new private message. This was different from the one that I normally get which is a pop-up window. I went to check the Private messages and none were new. But everytime I clicked on a link in my website I'd keep getting the message. I deleted all my PMs and still got it. In the forum and the Who's online block it says that I have no new PM's ... but then I looked in the Account Info mod, and it says I have 1 new PM there...so I clicked on the "1" and it took me to my PM account ... there were no PM's in there (cuz I deleted them all). Please help.

I assume you are running 6.0 with the 2.0.6 port?

If so there are actually two private messaging systems. Nukes and phpbb's. The two are not integrated. The use seperate tables for the data. Instead all the links and calls just point to phpBB's private message system. So when messages are sent through that you get the popup and it shows in user info and all that jazz.

My guess, and this is pretty much a guess, is that somehow someone sent you a pm through the old nuke pm interface and since all the view my pm's links point to phpbb system there is no way for you to retrieve that "stuck" pm to get rid of it.

so you will have to fire up phpmyadmin browse to nuke_priv_msgs (not nuke_bbprivmsgs because this is the phpbb table that works) and look for that pm and delete it from there. Then when you fire back up your site that 1 pm should not show up.

The real question is how did someone send you that PM? Maybe someone else can solve that riddle for you? Confused Most likely there is some link that is not pointing to the right pm system?
