Untill 22/02/03 everything was fine. Today I posted 3 new submissions. But to my surprise thay did not appear on the homepage. Neither submissions were registered in the 'stories' database. I tried to add a story from main admin 'add story'. But no success.
I will be grateful if anybody can guide me how to detect the fault and correct it.

I have added MS Analysis (changes involved adding lines in the footer.php) and Who is Where (changes involved adding lines in the my-header.php) modules since then. And made some changes in the theme.php (just change of colour)

Time to un-do your changes and then implement them one at a time. Because you've added all of them at once we cannot troubleshoot effectively.
