As usual, I have done a thorough check through the forum before posting. If I have missed the solution, please forgive me and redirect me.
I just did a fresh install with 6.5 RC2 and the profile bug for the forums page is still there. I've tried AI bug fix for beta 7 but no luck there. When I click on profile in the forums page, it brings me to my personal info page. I've tried loading the page by its own and it works ok but not the link though.
Your help is much appreciated. |

that's not a bug.
The profile is now 100% integrated into the Your_Account module. All the variables are in the edit user screen in the Your_Account section.
Uploading avatars has been disabled in this version |

my Profie fix was for the actual Profile module, not hte profile page in the forums.
The idea of the profile module was that it does take you to the phpBB forum profile link, which does work on my site btw.

Thanks for clarifying. AI, what I said about your profile fix was to show that I've tried very hard to solve my problem on my own first. I hope you're not offended as I have found your comments / help in this forum extremely useful and helpful.
Ok, since it's not a bug. It looks like it works great. Only thing is, I actually liked the idea of allowing users to upload their own avatars. The current nukecops forum has it and under the forum configuration menu, it actually ask whether you would want to enable user uploading
One other thing, I noticed that AI has a slightly different user info block. Is that available somewhere or was it a personal hack?
Thanks again for clarifying. |

the forums we use here is the new port under testing and it's got the old profile link back in.
To get the profile stuff fixed again, apply the Profile module fix I did and use the Profile link from the Modules block. This has the avatar upload feature available if it's enabled in the Forum Administration -> General Configuration page.
How's my User_Info block different? cause of the Graphic Security thingy? That's an advanced-mod that I've got going on my site. it'll be released along with the new nuke if Zhen and FB approve it.
[edit]
There's also a logout option underneath the username for members who're logged in.

AI..I have yet to be able to get your Forum Profile fix to work.
Everytime the user makes ANY changes to the Forum profile and tries to save them, they get

So you're saying that it's possible to get phpbb profile going even in RC2? (Personally, I think the option to allow user upload is a great idea.) I don't quite understand what you mean by 'use the profile link from modules block'. Care to elaborate? I have your fix but I noticed that the profiles module is not there anymore. Your index.php in profiles is actually just called profiles.php in RC2. It would be great to try and see if this works. Thanks in advance.
About your user info - I was precisely referring to the security block you've added. That just makes sense. Period. I hope they see it that way too.
Additonal info:
I'm setting up a website for my students. Hopefully, one will become operational soon. It's at pulse.englishdept.net
The other site is used purely for testing and it's at test65.englishdept.net |
