I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and I think my site would be better off using the standalone phpbb forums because nearly all the good mods have not been ported yet. Only one or two sites are working on them but they are very, very busy, and it's just easier to use mods premade than to wait to have them ported..
Is there any way to transfer the database, messages, points, etc to a standalone forum from a nuke forum? Of course they'd both need the same mods, but other than that, how do I do it or is it even possible?
The only disadvantage to this is that the users have to register with their names twice, right? (One for the nuke site, one for the forum.) Are there any real disadvantages to this?

Other than it being a pain in the butt I have no idea.
I would assume getting the data from the corresponding nuke tables would be the first round though.

I found an article about it a bit ago.. though I haven't met anyone who's actually done it, and I haven't started it myself yet. I will probably try this weekend.
Just an update if anyone is interested in doing this for their site. It was pretty quick, and I knew very little about using phpmyadmin. My knowledge in phpmyadmin grew quite a bit in the process, and even though I made a few mistakes that required me to redo the entire thing, it only took 3 hours total. If you have experience in phpmyadmin, it would probably only take you half an hour tops.
