I have noticed in the latest distribution that there are 3 tables related to searches in the forums, but no tables available for the Search block.

It would be great to have a table that could report the last ## of Searches done through the block and the IP address and/or username of the individual that did the search. Maybe even the number of results returned.

Feasible?

Well ... I notice from my MS-Analysis, that IP tracking is available for everyone ... guest or member. I also notice that alot of visitors (Guests) are going to the Search module. I would like to capture their search requests ... what are they searching for.

I can see this is captured with the BB forums but not everywhere else. It would be nice to have it also captured in the main web site.

Does this make sense?

In the future ahead, it would be great to have a search module that could search through everything in the site, instead of just being able to search through specific modules.

Google's site search is a great example for this.

To me its more important that it become more easy to include 3rd party modules in the search.
Could be done by some dynamic sql using a definition table telling search which columns and tables to use in the hole site - e.g search could have a table telling which tables (columns) to search in and what headline (category) to give the results

I would like to be able to see a list of the search terms that people used to search my site. If there's content that they are looking for, I would like to be able to provide it.

Using Ms_Analysis you can see the search terms people used to find your site.

Example: http://abadox.biz/wildcats/modules.php?name=MS_Analysis&file=details&op=MSAnalysisDetails&screen=3&overview=3
