not sure where this fits but,
everytime someone types the word "the", it gets replaced with "eht".
at first i saw a couple and thought it was quite a coincidence, but then i began to notice forum posts by myself, and they also had "eth" posted.
this occurs in both the forums and private messages.
i have recently imported standalone phpBB forums into nuke 6.5
i thought it might be an issue with a language file, but haven't been able to find anything.

That is weird. Have you looked in the Forum Administration Word Filters just to see if maybe it's in there?
