I know today's results have yielded the select change in functions.php. At times the site has been accessible and others it has not been. Right now I've accessed it after being off for several hours. My first post brought up this response:

Guess there are more bugs to unravel... |

One could go as far as to think that the changes made today which dealt with the session routine may have somehow messed up that part, who knows? |

Did he implement other changes? I didn't re-read the home page article in hours. |

I had been trying to keep an eye on that article all day with no luck due to the downtime but i was able to check it awhile back and found no other post by him or the guy that submitted the fix, i've always been baffled by the phpBB port, just now i made tons of "corrections" to many files (2.0.6 version) trying to fix the bug in the pass change through the profile link, i've made no tests yet but could not believe that with everything i changed i only broke the topic watch routine which thank God was easy to fix, thing is, some of the query errors are easy to tackle like email, website, pass and user_intrest but others like uid and uname are a nitemare because both can be valid entries in many cases and changing them to uid and uname in those cases breaks most of the forum, sigh |

I did some of that testing back when Tom released his first or second port release. For how nice it looks, the code can be a little dangerous. |

it doesn't help it though, I had to flush my cookies well after my first post after FB implemented the change, and I still get the error.

That post at phpbb.com points to what could very well be the reason for this, if you look at the things the helper asks the user with the same problem, you'll find server problems listed, as in downtime due to server crashes and the user seemed to find a problem with the server time caused it, after the way phpnuke.org has slowed down and eventually crashed lately it would be no surprise that the server somehow suffered from this. |
