I would really like to be able to use PHPNuke for a project I am working on for some friends, but they need to retain the user data and forum data at the minimum but would like a whole conversion of their PostNuke site. I have found a PHPNuke to PostNuke conversion but cannot grasp how to reverse the process. PostNuke uses 2 different user database sections, from what I can gather, using the PNphpBB module, which means that really the only transfer that needs to take place is the PNphpBB user data, all the forum data, the articles and reviews. Everything else is expendable.
I am looking for someone to engineer a script (must be a script and not a direct manual edit of database so that it may be used more than once) to convert PostNuke 7.2.3 to PHPNuke 6.5. All user data from the forums must be converted to PHPNuke user data, forum data (posts, post count usergroups), and articles (Reviews and News) must be preserved. I will Donate $50.00 US to PHPNuke Resource site of your choice or to your own website. There is a lot of demand for this in the community also, so business savvy individuals could possibly profit from this.
Thanks in advance,

Please provide the postnuke 723 sql generation file and point of *precisely* what tables and columns need to be preserved. |

That shows every table created for any database on the install of a PNphpBB module. We are dealing with MySQL 3.* but I do not see any table creation differences between that and MySQL 4... either of those schemas should work. install.php shows the creation and implementation of those schemas. If all you can do is save the forum information and make it transferable to PHPNuke 6.5, you have achieved enough. I can do a manual backup of the articles. The postnuke 723 sql file does nothing to interact with the forums that I can see, so you shouldn't need that. I'll include it just in case.

What do you mean by user mapping? I don't know a whole heck of alot about MySQL or the interaction between its tables and PHPNuke. |

Most definitely! That is one of the major reasons for keeping the forum data at all. It links the user with what he/she has said. I appreciate the most courteous assistance. If you require anything else in the way of information please let me know.

Zhen, I uploaded the PostNuke 723 SQL Gen file in the same link as above. Just give me a shout if you want to do a trial run or 2... I can get a backup of the database handy to run on. |

Zhen, I am willing to increase my donation offer by $25 to a total of $75 US if this project can be completed by August 11, 2003. Payment would be forthcoming on August 11, 2003. |
