Trying to use standard HTTP Authentication. I created my .htpasswd file and put my .htaccess file in the html directory with index.php. Nothing happens. Does anyone know if there is something special I have to do to make this work with PHPNuke or not. Trying to protect a company website that has remote employees and no vpn.

It should and will work. But, you have to make sure that your Apache configuration file is set up to allow .htaccess, access. Your host can tell you that.

I checked my httpd.conf and made sure the AllowOveride line was set to All and restarted my httpd service. Still no luck. Never had a use for this in the past with my phpnuke sites but now I want the entire thing locked down from the outside world.
