A few years ago, PHP did not have a graphical installer for Windows, so i created one for every version of PHP, from 4.0.2 to 4.0.4. Then Phil Driscoll created an official one for PHP, so i stopped. Well times have changed. I emailed Phil recently and he told me he no longer uses Windows, and it is unlikely there will be any improvements to the installer in the near future. Wez Furlong has volunteered to help, but is really too busy.
I decided to take up the challenge again, because I need a decent PHP installer myself. So I started up my old copy of WISE installer, and built a new improved version with lots of spanking new features (many of which the default installer at php.net doesn't have) :-
fully automated installation of PHP 4.3.2 for Apache 1.3/2.0 and IIS
Tested on Windows 2000, XP and 2003.
added Turck MMCache support for up to 1000% improvement in performance (new).
added FastCGI support for IIS - this makes PHP with IIS rock-solid, and improving performance (new).
includes PEAR and ADOdb classes.
test scripts to confirm PHP is working.
PHP scripts to switch from FastCGI to CGI mode, if you are having compat problems.
File based session and file upload support.
