sites been running for years and i back up every so often....the past few times i try to back up it says the page not found??????
what to do?

If the backup from PHP-Nuke Admin fails, you can backup with phpMyAdmin, unless your backup size is too big that you get time out issues and thus incomplete backup. For bigger backups MySQLDumper is best and safest to use.

from php my admin would i just do export(with default setting) and that would give me everything the same as backing up through nuke admin?

Yes, but choose structure and data. Complete inserts it also good to choose, because it gives more reliable backups for big databases, although it increases the size of the backup file.
