Ok, so I have this perfect theme I found! But, I really like the news icons feature but it doesn't support it. Is there anyway I can add that back in? I'm using PHPNuke 7.8.

If your talking about the news icons on your index page there declared in the file story_home.html. This is in your domain-root/themes/theme-name/ folder, could also be declared in your theme.php file like " deepblue " has it.
Look at deepblue's theme.php file for an example. Look for a line that has " $tipath$topicimage " in it. Occurs twice. Once in function themeindex and once in function themearticle.
You would have to recode, possibly add images also, the theme.php file plus the story_home.html and story_page.html files in your theme.
