That could be harmful if it inserts records, but it should fail if it tries to create a table that already exists or if it tries to alter a table in a way that has already been altered.
To be on safe, definitely back up your data.

Success!
Here's what I've found.
1 - installed 7.6 Raven kit from scratch
2 - extracted users and all bb* tables into a .txt file from old archive
3 - imported those tables
4 - ran bb upgrade scripts from 1.3 through 2.2
5 - resynch forums so topics report correctly
6 - reapply my hacks
