How to update....

I know that this question is asked a lot ... Here it goes...

Ok.. I am kinda learning php... I use phpnuke for my site. Now... I forgot which version of phpnuke i first installed and never learned how to upgrade. How would I find this out (what version I have) and can someone point me to some instructions on the incremental updates i need to get myself up to 8.0 at least. I think i installed 7.x (5-7 - i forgot)

So, anyway, please if someone can help... thank you.

Use phpMyAdmin to find the version in your config table
I would not recommend 8.0, it is full of buggy junk code.

What would you suggest is the best most secure version for me to upgrade to then? I have 7.6.
