I am in need of some confidential, trustworthy, professional help.
I lost my php/nuke specialist about a year ago. Everything on my site is breaking, it runs slow, I get errors constantly, I am completely clueless about php/nuke/mysql. My knowledge ends at php administration...
I am using iPower for a webhost and have to connect to their help almost daily. They have a ton of issues and a lot of the problems had been on their end. It seems the more problems they had, the more things on my site started shutting and breaking down.
They just told me the last few times the problem is at my end. I used to have 100 and at one point had 600 people a time on my site, now I have 4. Most people cannot get to the site and everyone is very depressed about it, it's been in bad shape for a while, and I'm about ready to give up.
The last time I spoke with iPower they told me "the problem that you are facing is due to the ?max_questions? setting which is set to 50,000 per user per hour. This setting is there to ensure that the MySQL database cannot be overloaded with to many query requests."
I was the only PERSON on the site, and all I was trying to do was LOG in, get to home page (they told me i needed to reload my index.html page (but it's php!) I couldn't get to the home page, and could not get to the forums. I get white pages constantly and timed out errors constantly. I get mysql errors all the time.
I have no clue how many mods are on my site, if any modifications are outdated, if the data base is screwed up.
I volunteer and pay for everything on this site, which doesn't sell/make a profit, it's a victims advocacy site that is for murdered victims and we are also changing the name of the site soon.
The information on the site is confidential that's why we have the nuke so victim's families have private forums.
Willing to pay reasonable fees to fix the site and get it working properly.
Sadly iPowerWeb has that query limit - which will stop all SQL requests once it is hit. phpNuke is a very database-intensive script - I would suggest getting a new host.
Also updates would be very good, esp if you're not sure what version you are using. There have been some security issues this year, so it could cause problems if your site is vulnerable.
If I do move it I would need it done professionally, like I said early, I can work php administration, that's where my knowledge ends.
It's been over a year since anything on my site has been upgraded, so any tweaks, upgrades, bug fixes, patches, etc. has not been taken care of.

I can take a look, if you want. I can send you a quote for the work, I would just need some kind of access to check out the site (FTP + phpMyAdmin prefered)
You can just PM me and we'll go from there.
On hosting, I must say I do some custom hosting myself - so I haven't bought any webhosting in ages. Can't recommend particulars, but people are here who know and use phpNuke would be your best bet. I could look into matching your current plan.
Thanks phpnuke-hosting. I was looking at your site, and it is something I am very interested in.
I would hate to move servers until I know what the current problem is with my site, because I'm afraid if I move it, I would still be bringing my current problems with.
Thank you.

Hi
Well its entirely your decision but if you do take up hosting with us I will be happy to take a look at your sites files and get any issues fixed with it.
As an addition I will also give you an analysis on any parts you may want to upgrade or add to your site for increased security.
Many Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.
We lost a member of our community and a community that ties in closley with our site in a tragic accident. I will definitely need a few days before I can do this, also so I can warn the members that we will be down a while.
Thank you so very much and as soon as I can get the word out that we are going to make a change and after the memorial for this long-time friend, I will contact you and make the arrangments for the move.
Thank you so very much in advance and thank you for getting back with me.
