You'll have to forgive me if I'm in the wrong thread but I've been bouncing around tryin to find an answer.

Recently, my forums just slowed down to bare nothing when tryin to access posts. I've optimized tables and have tried changing my theme to see if that would solve the issue. So far, I've had no luck. My provider says there is nothing wrong with the server and my ISP tells me that my internet connection is great. So i'm confused.

http://www.emswar.com is the site...you can see the threads in the forums, just can't open any topics...

Any help?

. Have you tried to disable a few blocks just to rule that out ? Also, you might want to think about updating your forums http://nukeresources.com . With the age of your boards, it is possible that someone has tried to hack your site and in the process, messed up your database .

are you talking about upgrading the phpbb? I'm guessing that is what you mean.

Indeed, thats what I mean . Every forum that comes with php-nuke is called bbtonuke , meaning it was ported (made to work with) to work with nuke .

ok, that seems to be the best option right now. i removed blocks and still nothing was fixing it.

I clicked on the phpbb link at the bottom of my forums and got info on the phpbb 2.0.22. I just hope I don't screw anything up...

Use this link http://nukeresources.com . You can not use just regular phpbb updates, you have to use the updates for bbtonuke . So , for example, if I am using 2.0.10 then I need to go ahead and get the update for 2.0.10 to 2.0.11 so on and so on . Also, make sure you run the updates in sequential order .

So all I need is to get the files for the newer versions and upload them into my server via FTP, right? I don't need to do any porting for the users accounts or anything? That's my biggest worry...loosing all that information.

I see files named BBtoNuke 2.0.12 and so on...

I can't find files marked 2.0.11 to 2.0.12 or anything...is this correct?

Thanks for the help, by the way!

That is correct . Also , you are going to be overwriting some files too . So , it's kind of like this , you 'll download the package[s] then upload the files to their respective directories . Then , you should have one update file that should say something like upgrade21-22.php , this file needs to be in your root directory , where your mainfile.php and all that is . Once you overwrite your files with the new ones, you should then point your browser to www.yourdomain.com/upgrade21-22.php or , if you have nuke installed into a subdirectory (lets say nuke) then of course it would be like www.yourdomain.com/nuke/upgrade21-22.php . There are a lot of updates but you need to get them done at some point to ensure your site's security among other things . Of course always make backups before you make changes .

thanks for the help, I'm already up to 2.0.13 right now. Forums are working again and I've got a long way to go to be caught up to the current version out there.

Thanks for the help!

ok, so I've got my boards updated to 2.0.19. Now whenever I click on "forums" it gives me this:

You can't access this file directly...

How can I fix this?

hmm...I found the issue in the forums index.php file.

had to block the code forcing it to direct that information rather than the actual forums.
