Hey guys I'm wondering if you can help me out. I'm trying to get the most out of my server and connection and am trying to increase speed.
I updated my mainfile.php file from the updates on page 7. Everything seemed to work great and load times decreased... However I noticed throughout the day that there wasn't many users on so I logged out of the site to see if there was a problem I wasn't aware of... sure enough there was.
When I updated the mainfile.php to either the code on the first page or the code on the 7th page a user who visits the site and is not logged in can not view the security code in order to complete logging in.
I've since reverted back to the original mainfile however I'm wondering if anyone knows the fix for this as it seemed to work great other then that small hitch.
I'm using nuke 6.5... here's the site if you're curious. www.customobsessions.com |

I see a white page with a box that says
"Welcome to the home of HackerAssassins
Kicking Rainbow Brite and taking names one Hacker at a time!
You never know when you are going to be a victim!"
Is this the remnant of some page that served a greater purpose a time back? |

This might sound stupid, but I did this myself and couldn't understand why I could see the security code, and my users couldn't.
The answer was one day when i was trawling through my modules admin, i set the Your_Account module to visible to "Registered Users Only". BIG mistake.
Seeing as the code for logging in to your account, is actually generated via the "Your Account" module, if you then disable or make the module only visible to members that are logged in, it makes the security code image unaccessible to any user who isn't logged in. |
Maybe a similar problem? |

You might consider upgrading to version 7.6 with the Patch 3.2. The Patch 3.2 contains all those speed up code and a lot more..... |

I run 7.8 and I did the changes on page 7. It didn't really change the loading time at all on my website... but it was only 0,22 before. |

In Platinum 7.6.b.4 it makes it impossible to stay logged into admin.php. I believe it may be something to do with cookies. |

That's a lot of people . I think it's time to consider a dedicated server .
IMO, adding any kind of speed hack is not going to help you at all with that kind of traffic.
I know this does not answer your question , however, I would be very hesitant about doing this . Maybe someone else will lend a hand |
