phpBB .gif icons

hi,
i dont know if this is the correct place for this topic but i`ve posted on many forums and no one could help me. so here it goes..

I have an America`s Army clan Website with phpbb forums, in the forums i have different sections like.. Public area, Clan Members area, Clan Admins area. etc.. you can see it on the following link:

i have changed the icon for all of them with that Army Insignia. now what i want to do is have different icons for the different sections. how can i do that?
basically i want to have lower ranking insignias to the other forum sections.
what should i be edditing to change them?

Hope some one can help me out

The image you're referring to is the new message indicator. It changes when there are new/unread messages in the forum.
http://www.nomercykillers.acespace.co.uk/themes/Lexus-Blue/forums/images/folder_big.gif is the image location.
You will have to modify the theme to add the feature you want. Simply changing that particular image may not produce the desired result.

I didn't forget about ya Smile

, just haven't found the mod for the phpbb ported version . I think it's called Forum Icon mod.

Sounds good . I found one at phpbb.com but it was for the standalone version , though I am sure that I've seen it for the ported phpbb .

hmm i found one at : phpBBHacks.com but i`m not sure if its correct. it just contains a txt doc. with a couple of edits to the forum .php files. do you think it will work?

I looked at it and don't see why it wouldn't work . Just make sure to make backups before you make your edits to those files . I have used this mod for a long time and it works great !

hmm.. ok, but as always, u cant expect a noob to mess around with sql database. so i will need some help.. i have access to phpmyadmin. i logged in and opened phpbb_forums wich in my case is named nuke_bbforums as i have PNC4 installed. I`m guessing they are the same thing.

now, i`m trying to alter the table but i`m not sure how to do it. this is the first time i`m using phpmyadmin for editing a database.

There is no need to touch your database using this mod .

Again, I've never used this or attempted it on a phpbb ported version for nuke (your default forums that come with nuke) , but I have used it on the stand alone version of phpbb , but as I said, I don't see any reason why it would not work .

where did u get your mod from? the one i got says i got to edit 5 php files:

Files To Edit: 5
## index.php
## admin/admin_forums.php
## language/lang_english/lang_admin.php
## templates/subSilver/admin/forum_edit_body.tpl
## templates/subSilver/index_body.tpl

are we talking about the same mod?

I think there are several version[s] of this mod . The one I have used and downloaded from your link is the very first one on the top of that page . Below the file, it says
