Good luck on getting an answer. I've been waiting to hear about 7.8 for weeks before I attempt to install it. |

I've been on the lookout too. It didn't work on my 7.8. It remade the links but not the urls. I guess the threadstarter here had the same problem. |

Wow, talk about a big lag in posts. From September of last year to May of this year.
After researching what GoogleTap and its imatators do, I decided to say screw it. It ain't worth the agravation. Its much simpiler to create a site map, call it "sitemap.htm" or "sitemap.php" and put it in the footer to the main page. Once you register the site at Google, the crawler pick this up and follows the links.
My page gets almost zero real traffic, but I have at least 6 crawlers on at all times sorting though both News items and the forum section. |

Yeah they see my site too. I dont even need a webmap since every section is linked from the main page, every section has links to all articles etc. |

Do you really think having static pages has no value?
Does anyone else agree? I did hear google was becoming more PHP-friendly... |

I was in a rush and didn't fully explain because I'm lazy. Let me clarify a tiny bit. There is a php script which will create a dynamic map of your site. I forget where I found it which is why I didn't mention it previously.
Get that script and call it "sitemap.php". Register that url (www.domain.mil/sitemap.php) with google. After about a month, Google will hit it and presto-bingo-bango, all of your site gets crawled and you don't have to re-do the map when you make changes. |

darn. i was in a rush and didn't really read your question. No, I think static pages are very useful but not in a CRM enviroment. Static pages are great if you just want to put of a home page (AKA: Look-At-Me-I-Want-Attention page) or to share one particular item, but not for sites with content that changes even monthly, let alone hourly.
Or did I miss the point again? |

So is there a script like that for me? My website runs on a windows server and I can't chmode anything. I can have the provider chmod a dir for me but not regularly. When I installed GT-nextgen it re-made the links but the pages they linked to didn't exist. |
