Hi
i run a pc hardware review site and wondered if someone could tell me if this is possible:

I have the Evasion phpnuke theme (this was a zentri theme ported to nuke). The left side of the header is flash.

I wanted to add a link banner to the right side of my header - is this possible?

I presume i have to insert some code into my theme.php file, but im not sure where - in themeheader?

Im also not sure on what code to use, and where i have to place this code within the php file.

Image

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help
darren

p.s i tried to post my theme.php file - but it said the html tags you are using are not allowed

1st of all, it IS posseble.

2nd)
To make it more easy:
why dont you make the left and right site as one (swf) banner?

3)
You need to enable the use of SWF files in you PHPnuke installation.

This info will do I guess:

Hi thanks for your reply
Ive read the two links you gave me - and they are about enabling flash in nuke - this is not what im looking to do.

Im running patched phpnuke 7.9.

In my theme header i want to add a GIF/JPEG/JPG linkable banner

If i made the whole theme header one big SWF file:
1. wouldnt this make the site page load slower
2. in the themes inages folder, the right part of the header is make up of probably 5 different images - wouldnt this be rather time consuming (trying to find all the pieces, put them together to make up the whole right side of the header)
3. If i made the whole header flash, i would need to add the link banner to the header using a flash program - i have no knowledge of flash

I had someone who made the theme create the banner, as ive tried working with flash, following readmes and such, and just cannot get to grips with it - you could say i am pretty useless.

All i want is a simple linkable banner inside my header

Im pretty sure it a piece of code i gotta write somewhere in either the theme.php or config.php for this.

But as i only know a little php/html
all the code looks the same
I have not got the first idea of what/where the code should be placed within these files

thanks
darren

Hi Darren,

If you just want something simple...

I am using an iframe of a dhtml clickable banner script from dynamicdrive.com inside a block in nuke to display a rolling news ticker but they have banner link scripts as well.

You can see it in use at www.sim500.com on the home page about half way down the page.

Where does it go?
In your theme's header.php
