Hi,
I have a Nuke site just over 6000 members. Nuke DB is about 8 Megs Gziped. Home page takes about more than 10 seconds to load. Forums are even more than that most of the time. I have a Xeon Server with 1GB Ram, and I dont know what the problem is. Any thoughts?
Thanks

He can split out the forum posts in an other database,
can't he?
(Do NOT follow this suggestion if someone with more SQL knowlidge did reply on this)
And:
2sec. is way too much for a page to generate / load.
It will kill the succes of your site. |

Yes but when you have a busy site, lots of hotlinked images etc etc, together with a slow (or not so great server) then 2 sec generation times are not unrealistic. |

2sec is not that bad at all. On my 440mhz ULTRA 5 /w/ 256mb ram Athens101.com takes around 1.94 - 3.00 sec to render pages. |
