Yes, ask your hosting company, if they have phpMyAdmin or something similar to view and edit the database. phpMyAdmin is also needed to make a backup of the site although PHP-Nuke can be used to do it also, but I think most here uses phpMyAdmin for backup.

It is also possible to install phpMyAdmin in your web space and it takes approx. 11 MB of space. It is, however, not so easy to configure though.

I've installed phpMyAdmin many times. Usually the default config file they give works quite well. It will ask you for the login everytime, which is all I need.

Don't save your login in the config file, otherwise other people may be able to access it too. Or if you do, make sure it is in an already password-protected folder

Did you find your version of nuke? Depending on who your host is you might be able to get to your control panel by typing in http://www.yourdomain.com/lpanel or http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel then look for a link named MySQL and then after clicking on that scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see phpmyadmin. You really need to contact your hosting support department about how to navigate to these areas if you are unsire.

If you are running 7.6 then go to http://ravenphpscripts.com/ and download his version of nuke. This release of nuke has been hardened against the most common attacks and has several nice features. After installing this version you will need to upgrade the Sentinel version by downloading the updates ===>http://ravenphpscripts.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=14#cat

If you have a version greater than 7.6 you will need to downgrade your database by downloading the downgrade script at http://www.nukeresources.com. Then install the Raven Nuke and Sentinel updates and download the forum updates over at http://www.nukeresources.com and you should be good to go.

If you need help email me at nickhuffman74@yahoo.com and I will be more than happy to lend you a hand.
