I have Phpnuke 7.6 installed and the Recommend_Us module does not check for email correctness. Can somebody please tell me how I can make sure that this module checks for email validity before sending it of please.
for example, currently if you type nothing or spaces or words without '@' you still get this message 'The reference to our site has been sent to ...'.
Can somebody tell me how i can fix this problem for 'Recommend Us' module and 'Send to a Friend' function.
Many thanks in advance.

I just checked the code, and tried it on a test site. The code includes a validity check (validate_mail, mainfile.php) and it does work on my test site.
Are you sure your Nuke install is "ok"?
Open modules/RecommendUs/index.php, look at line 54 or so. Does it say this:

It is installed correctly, but I coundnt find the line you specified above. I tried to paste the code here but NukeCops site doesnt allow me. Could you please send a copy of your Recommend Us index file to me.
I have been to several phpnuke websites trying to find out if it was just my site but no.
and type anything at the mail address or dont type anything.
thanks again.

It must be something to do with the version of Nuke you're using. I suggest you consider downloading Nuke 7.6 with chatserv's patches and using it instead. Your database will be fine of course but you'll lose any mods or hacks you added. But, if you're missing this check in your Nuke version, who knows what else you're missing.

Thanks for your help. I will take a look at the possibility of upgrading.
