On Athens101 we keep the forums for registered users only. We do have one forum that anyone can post in. For the last year it has been fine with no problems. In the last three months that forum has became a target for SPAM. Not just one or two but 13-14 post per day. I had to restrict the forum to registered users only when the spam post started having 2-300 links causing my little SQL box to die.
Is there a good way to prevent SPAM and still keep a forum for unregistered users to post?
Thanks,
Venn

try putting Captcha on your forums so when they post they have to copy a code that way this stops automated systems spamming. I believe there is already a mod out there for it

There are some methods over at http://www.phpbb.com
Don't know if they will work directly in phpNuke
