I need to better understand how autonews works. I am using nuke version 7.8.
Yesterday I programmed 3 stories to post at 2AM. One did and the other two just sat there.
I deleted the two remaining stories from the programmed articles and resubmitted both of them with "submit news" and programmed them to post in 10 minutes. Neither article posted. (Note I have to post all articles this way because if I indicate to post immediately, they just disappear.)
I then tried each separately. Neither posted.
I used phpMyAdmin and inserted each manually.
Until last night, I have never had a problem. So, the question is, is there something that would prevent autonews from transferring data to the stories table? Some symbol or string? There is definitely something that kept 2 articles (out of 3) from posting and further attempts also failed.
I have checked the installation and nothings been changed since last year. The database looks fine. I have been posting 2-5 stories every day and this is the first time that it has failed and, it failed repeatedly.
I can't find a problem other than autonews has decided to stop working.

It worked today - 3 of 3 posted but I want to understand the process so I can insure this doesn't happen in the future.

Are you using the Patched files?
The code to do autonews is in the automated_news function in mainfile.php
Looks like it checks that there is no other story with the same title, and it will add it then. I don't see any other checks.
There was no other story by the same title but now that I know where to look, I'll check into the code and see if I can figure it out. This is the only time it happened but I want to understand the mechanics so that it doesn't happen again.
Yes, I do have the patched files installed
Thanks again!!!
