How do I go about updating the forum, especially with this much time update difference? I'm not what you would call "new" to PHP-Nuke, but I'm trying to get my site updated to the latest available, for security reasons, and I've never updated phpBB in PHP-Nuke.
I know I use BBtoNuke 2.0.19, but which one, because my current version is so far behind? |

You must install all BBToNuke packages sequentially to get to 2.0.19.
2.0.16 -> 2.0.17 -> 2.0.18 -> 2.0.19 |
Where can I find them for download? |

Do you need MySQL for this?
Also, do you need to have BBtoNuke 2.0.10 or is it automatically installed on PHPNuke v. 7.8? Or just download all of the files from BBtoNuke 2.0.15 to BBtoNuke 2.0.19?
Also, how would I access the upgrade file? Would that require MySQL? |

Well yes, you need a database for this. If your database is MySQL, that should be fine.
BBToNuke is already in 7.8 - it is the port from the phpBB files. However, phpNuke 7.8 only includes BBToNuke 2.0.15.
You will need the BBToNuke files are indidcated. The upgrade files can be run in your browser. |

You have to have a mainfile.php, or nuke can't run. Perhaps you uploaded the upgrade script to the wrong directory. It needs to go in the root directory, where config.php and mainfile.php dwell. |

bugger, i spotted that file in the root too, but thought it was a different mainfile.php. I never thought you would run the update php from there, as usually i have run full phpBB2 updates from within the actual forum on other non nuke sites.
So, I am currently sawing my leg off so I can give myself a kick up the Rainbow Brite.
One other thing though...when I come to post a new topic or similar, none of the edit buttons (bold, italic etc) work. and you cant highlight typed text either, you have to manually use arrow keys and b/space or delete? any ideas on that one? |
