first thanks Evaders for replying to my message,
i am using a theme called blackdog at the moment and the only thing i have changed there are images, i have added 2 blocks a "Who is where" and a "User info"... i have 2 users the super user account and a normal user account i set up to test it with,
i can copy the coding needed for you to have a look if its a coding issue if you would as i would not know where to start lol
Thanks again for your help,

Well i tried what you said Evaders even though i am no good with php lol, but i went into the phpmyadmin and removed the super user account through the authors table, then i went to the admin.php dir and it said that a super user acocunt needed setting up, so i thought i had it beat, then i entered details into the specified area's and hit the submit button, it then took me to the news page again and did not give me admin fetures and did not log me in or allow me to create the account, so i have no super user account either now im sorry to keep coming back to you on this Evaders, anything else i could try doing ?
Forgot to mention i also deleted Cookies and temp internet files.
Thanks again
