I realize Mister put a great deal of time and effort in Protector and he has evidently ran out of both of those now and has decided to call it quits. I do find it highly aggavating though that he would not have the courtesy to tell those of us that have used the product from the start how to correctly uninstall it.

Everyone seems to think we are all PHP-Nuke experts and that is not the case. So Mister if you happen to read this take 5 mins and post a message here on the correct way to remove you product so we can get on with our lives to.

Plus we can't even download a copy of the program so we could reverse the process because he literally slammed the door on the web site as well. Gimme a break

I hope Marcus didn't quit. He seemed like a nice person but his heart just wasn't fully into the Protector product.

I initially tried to encourage him by suggesting ways to make a few dollars.
I was enthusiastic as hell when I first started moderating for him but, over time, I got the feeling that he was growing tired of the project.
I hated to see that because I liked the level of competition that existed between Protector and Sentinel.

As for uninstalling. I created a fairly detailed install video.
Download it here.
You can also download a copy of the last version, 1.15b2.
Download that here.

If there is indeed a new version I will eat crow an apologize for my rant and then hopefully be allowed to get copy so I can continue to use it. I admit I still have it installed on my server since it works so well for me. I just wish he wasn't quite so secretive about his work though.

well with techgfx and mister's track record for updates I believe Ill stay with a product I know will be updated like sentinel and chatserv's patched. Protector was a good module but many people who kept it are sorry now cause almost all the new exploits gets by it.
