Good day.. I have searched the internet for my answers, I have searched your site, I am not coming up with anything that works.

I am running apache/phpnuke/mysql off of a WindowsXP SP2 machine at home, off my Broadband connection. I don't have it set up as a mail server, I don't want to set it up as a mail server.

I want it to use an existing mail account I have with my ISP. How do I get it to do that? Can I get it to do that? What do I need to do that?

My head hurts from trying to find the answer...

I went into the forum configuration and put in my ISP's smtp server, and user name and password, but when I try to create a new user it tells me that a confirmation email was sent, but it never shows up.

Hey Steptoe...that's my problem.

I'm on a dynamic IP.

Now my question is: IS there anyway around this? (Besides disabling emailing all together?)

Yes...
One thing u have to accept if u intend to admin a site...it means a 4 lettered word to many ppl.....WORK
I use ip tracker...check the logs each..if u see a name in there without an under line, open the stmp server log, find the name..check to see why the email is rejected.
If cause doesnt exist, do nothing, if bounced,
Open the stmp db (Postcast is Outbox.fpt) in crimson editor, find the name, find the regisration confirmation link, copy paste it into browser addy bar, confirm their registration.
Create new email in your mail prog (outlook etc) to the new member, send an email to the person, explaining u have manually completed their regisration, their email was bounced, if they have another email to change to that in their profile if they wish to have notification of PMs and reply to posts etc.
If not bounced it jmay have been filtered by a spam filter, they may have to config their spam.
Keep in mind, default nuke has a 24 hr grace period, I have approve membership installed, this has a 48 hr grace before deleting fron user tmp table in phpmyadmin.

You could have just said no then...

The problem is my ISP won't let me use my home computer as a mail server...they block all email traffic from dynamic IP's...

So no matter what email a user uses they won't get any email from my website, and I don't think I want to go fishing for all the pm and EVERY SINGLE email sent by my site to manually send them out. I would have no problem with the user registration, but it still won't work.

Have u edited the php.ini file as per your forum search for postcast a long post by me
Run forum search on port 25 and check to see if your isp blocks port 25..u may also find how to get around it. If not go to the post cast site and read their work around.
Do u have a regist Domain name or use a dns server like no-ip?
