I know this is here but I cant find the answer to my question doing a search.

I want to know why I can set the smtp to localhost in the forum ADMIN Configuration with no worries and it will send the email via postcast.

I do the same in the php.ini and I get either no mail sent or the error

Warning: mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response: 550 5.7.1 <haha@gmail.com>... Relaying denied. Proper authentication required. in \html\modules\Feedback\index.php on line 95

I can not use Feedback or Recommend. Im not sure what else I can not use

In the PHP.INI file I have put the same SMTP address as the forum config and put the email haha@gmail.com in the Sendmail_from. I deleted the email and tested it still didnt work.

I have spent 4 days reading your forum and trying the things people suggest (just aint found the correct one.)

Hope someone can suggest a fix or help me.

I thought I had, and I must commend you on such a good tutorial.

The tutorial is the reason why i changed to postcast.

I will go through it again but I cant see what can go wrong and why mine dont work.

The reason for this post to start with is to ask why phpnuke site and forum are 2 different mail set ups?

I did what you had put in the tutorial again and I get

Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 550 5.7.1 ... HELO smtp.tpg.com.au claims to be us 'mail.tpgi.com.au' [***.12.160.3*], but the connection [***.90.***.39] is not us

DEBUG MODE

Line : 181
File : C:\html\includes\smtp.php

I must have put something to do with my old host somewhere.
Could you help may be give me a clue to where it is?

I dont feel so bad when I do them Laughing Laughing Laughing
Cheers m8 Glad u got it working

It is nice to think a low end user like me, who has so much support over the last 12 months from the nuke community, and wants to put a little back with a tutorial, a then so many find it very helpful.
Not just at 'Cops but a couple of other sites also.
Appreciate the feedback.
