Hello,

I've been trying to install phpnuke 7.7 for the past 2 hours. I'm no expert in this field, but I am pretty sure that I'm doing it correctly.

I followed a simple installation guide I found online. First I configured config.php, and then set up a mySQL database with a user/password. I used phpMyadmin during the installation to run/upload/whatever the information from nuke.sql. All of that went fine. The next step (as I read) was to go to www.mydomain.com/index.php, and I did ...
the page was totally blank, no errors or anything. i tryed the same with www.mydomain.com/admin.php ... same blankness.

I did a bunch of searches on multiple phpnuke forums, couldnt find much on this...

So I tryed wiping the installation and database out and retryin the install ....no luck. Wiped it clean again and tryed installing 7.6. The only difference except a blank page was "This page can not be accessed directly...". I hit the refresh button and it went blank again...

I have no clue.

I have phpbb forums installed no prob. They work great. Figured I could up the functionality of the site with phpnuke...just ran into a snag.

Thanks for any help!

Ok ... I'm stupid.

I was using WS_FTP Pro. to upload the phpnuke files. During the upload it was set on an "AUTO" mode for uploading where it dictates what fiels are uploaded as binary or not. Figures .php files were set to upload in Ascii.....

I changed the setting to upload everything as binary ... and well it worked.

It's always just a simple mistake can cause hours of frustration.
