I've seen more posts regarding this topic than I care to recall over the last day or so.
I've just installed Nuke7.7 with the patch 3.0.
Started with 7.5 Fantastico (Yep a noob!) and did every install, upgrade and patch along the way. Didn't miss one thing and updated all the config.php as I went along.
Everything on the site is fine, all the modules and admin areas work fine. Except "edit admin". I get Access Denied page..........
This seems to be a common problem as I've seen loads of posts on loads of websites, but no real replies or solutions as yet?
Anyone any ideas, especially ones in a language that I can understand! LOL

Thanks for replying.
Yep, I'm using the original admin account (must admit I wasn't, I was using a secondary SuperAdmin I'd set up, but changed back)
And I still get the same error. I've just installed sentinel and that all works fine too. It's all really odd...... I've seen so many guys with the same problem.

You will get an Access Denied if:
a) 'ADMIN_FILE' is not defined - make sure admin.php has the line
| Code: |
define('ADMIN_FILE', true);
|
b) the name to your admin is not 'God' - check your authors table
c) your admin is not a superuser - check that radminsuper = 1
Have you installed any other addons? Anything that would modify the authors.php file? |

Hi again Evader99!
admin.php had the line (think it was 15) as written above.
Where would I find your other two suggestion? Told you I was a n00b!
*Edit* In admin.php it mentions radminsuper = 1 a few times, but it says radminsuper == 1
And it also says $the_adm = "God";
CS
PS Once this is sorted I have kept links to all the other threads and website I've seen the same probs. I promise to re-visit them all...!!! |

I'm in phpmyadmin.
And I've got the Authors table up, but it's not the type of phpnuke I'm used to seeing.
Any chance of telling me how I can get the full script up, or what I'm looking for, and how?
Sy, know I'm a pain......

BTW, love the Kings of Chaos site!!!
When I've got a tad more time I'll check it out fully! I'm guessing it's a RPG?

When you go to your authors table (default is 'nuke_authors') ... hit Browse on that page. It should display a table with your admins.
Make sure that you have
Name = 'God'
radminsuper = 1 |

Before I start messing around with this...... *sweating badly*
I just change one of the usernames to God? Then log back in under the username god and the same pasword as the previous username?

Changed the name for my main account to God, left the aid section....
Still no access to editadmin, still same "access denied" message....
Any other lines that might be blocking this?
