Just thought I'd give an update on the ventrilo block, just incase someone still needed help. If you go to this website http://echoforce.us/M3 and check the downloads section, you'll see a download for the ventrilo v1. Wasn't me that created it, just used it from another person posting in this thread. Works great! You need atleast ventrilo server version 2.1.3 to get the status no matter what ventrilo block you use, and that cound be found on the download section of my website also.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks to all that helped me out

Sorry to drag up this thread again, but checked Jerridwill's site and version 2.1.3 wasn't there, does anyone else have this elusive server so I can run the vent block?
Cheers, Line

My very first attempt at PHP was a ventrilo page on my nukesite.
Just use the navigation to hit ventrilo, it's not a block, but I like it
I just grabbed the code for this from ventrilo.com's site and then used module maker to "modulize it" and then I made some monor mods to that mess of code.
Now, in hind site, I need to recode it.

aseitz, you need to be logged in to see that page
I was wondering one thing about this Ventrilo script:
Does it work with the newest version (eg. 2.2.0)?
Does it work regardless of if the server is on the same webspace as phpnuke, or not?

(nevermind, just found the never version of the script)
As you can see, it is displayed as a collapsible tree with the same style as the ventrilo client, it doesn't require IFRAME's yet it doesn't have to reload the page to update, it's fully CSS configurable (sorry if you don't like my demo style.. i'm not a graphic artist ). It comes with a PHP-Nuke block and a Mambo module (I'm happy to create blocks for other CMS systems upon request). Or you can just insert 2 lines of PHP code in a php file to display it.
It costs a small fee too, but with that fee you get unlimited updates / bugfixes / support. I'm have several new features in mind for the next release, and I'm happy to develop features upon request (assuming they are reasonable of course).
It also supports teamspeak 2.
The main page to get to the scripts is http://scripts.backhallnades.net. It's just a section of the backhallnades.net site, which is a gaming community at which anyone is welcome to hang out. Feel free to post in our forums, play in our arcade on the site, or on our game servers.

Justin,
Does your code still require executing the external _status code? I'm really looking for a 100% PHP script, like the "standard" TS script because I don't have the ability to execute external code.
And I would definitely need a true block for PostNuke.
Thanks!

belloq,
Unfortunately it is pretty much impossible to have a 100% PHP ventrilo status script. The communications between the ventrilo_status app and the server appear to be encrypted (from just a quick glance at the traffic), so it is required that the app be used, unlike for TS which allows you to connect directly on a TCP port and query the info which comes back in a nice text format. You can write a strongly worded letter to ventrilo if you don't like it
I am not too familiar with PostNuke, but I've made it into a block for PHP-Nuke (which is included) so i can't imagine it would be tough to make it a PostNuke block. The script only requires 2 lines of PHP anyway to include it

CVentriloStatus->Request() failed. No response from server.
How can I fix this error?

hey guys, sorry to dig up an old topic like this.
I have made a ventrilo module that also includes a block. Might wanna check it out.
If anyone could supply me with the code for the ventrilo client and server applications I would be extremely happy/relieved and eternally thankful. If you could just send it to stuffalotxtwice@aol.com that would be great, or if you know where I can find it, that would suffice. I am frantically searching for it and I am posting in every forum I can find that might return some helpful information, so I will not be checking back on this thread to read any subsequent replies. So an email would be much appreciated. Thanks alot in advance for any help you can give me and sorry if this post doesn't quite fit into this thread/forum...

I'm having the same problem as most. My ventrilo host is different from the webserver, so it can never establish a conneciton.
I couldn't get the one that Jerridwills provided, so I haven't checked that one. I tried American Wastelands, his also needs the ventrilo to be hosted on the same machine as the web host.
Is there any ventrilo block/module out there where Ventrilo does not have to be hosted on the web server?'
I've tried so, so many of them. They all run into the same problem (which I described above). I've just gotten back into Phpnuke after at least 3 years, so I'm a bit rusty. If anyone has any information on this, please do share. I'd really appreciate it.
My friend's site allows him to view his Ventrilo server status via his webpage (which isn't on the same server), but after viewing more carefully it seems as though he's paying for it with serverspy.net (which is a route I don't want to go for a simple block/module that displays who is on the server).
