If I do this search on google - http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=+site%3Awww.shepro.org+%22%2Bwww.shepro.org%22&btnG=Search&meta=

The home page does not say anything about my site

Just:-SHEpro user info. Welcome, Anonymous User Name Password (Register) Membership:
Latest: chrisblack New Today: 0 New Yesterday: 0 Overall: 1170 ...

Is this going to inspire anybody to access my site ??? !!! Rolling Eyes

½ way down the page I do however have a better description for this link
SHEpro safety resources >> food hygiene certificate from www.shepro.org

Arrow I achieved this by creating a sitemap which can be found at http://www.shepro.org/sections-listarticles-2.html - it is simply keywords, but it seems to work

By about page 80 in google (here’s the link to save you clicking Wink ) http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=+site:www.shepro.org+%22%2Bwww.shepro.org%22&hl=en&lr=&start=800&sa=N we start to be churning out crap again !!

Idea It is apparent that google reads what is at the top of the page..

Question The question is how can this be automatically done with each page. Please note I do not want a standard ‘this is my site we sell widgets’ at the top of each page – that’s easy.

I am looking for specific ‘top of page’ information relating to that page/topic/forum post/weblink/other/

Arrow For example, if you are writing about elephant gun supplies, then is there a way to write a search engine friendly description about this? (whether this is in topics, a weblink to, a forum post etc…

Any ideas Question Question Question

Hi Mike,

I see what you mean.

My website is similar in some areas. I installed a couple of files to sort this out as i need people to see what my website is all about.

Ill find the link and post it here. Its called Dynamic Meta Tags. Now what these do is, set your keywords for each page created, and the description and google will pick up on this.

Its a pain if you have 80 odd pages as you will have to go in and alter them all manually. But hey better to do it now then have to do them all when you have thousands of pages.

Dale
