Ok I have this installed on my site but where where the options for it? I really have no errors as of yet besides trying to set user permissions though the forums, it wont save them, unless I go into advance settings then it will. So if i dont have no otions does that means its done right?

When you installed it, you should have uploaded a file called asec.php. The authors recommend you rename it, keeping the .php on the end, however. Log in to your site using admin.php, then in your browser, replace admin.php with asec.php. You should then see the AS config panel.

It's not clear from their instructions that you call asec.php once before you upload the files and then as needed afterwards to administer AS. It had me stumped, too.

Administer Admin Secure cannot be done thru your admin.php, due of some security reasons. Like HalJordan said, you should run asec.php (located in your PHP-Nuke root directory) to administer Admin Secure panel. By the way, you don't have to replace your admin.php with asec.php.

You may read "docs/tips.txt" on how to put Admin Secure icon/link into your admin.php, but personally I'm not recommend to do that.

I didn't mean replace the file admin.php, just that part of the URL in the browser.

Um, no ... The asec.php needs to stay on the server, so you can administer AS. It's not an installer script that has to be deleted after you use it.

Out of curiosity, do you have the AS call before Sentinel in your mainfile.php, or after? And if madman is still reading this thread, does it make a difference which security system is called first? I have AS first, then sentinel.

Did you log in using admin.php first, then asec.php? Or did you go directly to asec.php? It looks like you did the second one.

To see the administration panel, login using admin.php first. You should see the usual admin menu. In the URL, replace admin.php with asec.php and press enter. Now you should see the AS admin panel. If you don't, then you may not have installed it properly.

No, leave the cookies alone. Log in using admin.php -- do not log out as admin -- then change the URL to point to your asec.php.

Let us know what happens.

As long as the admin name you used for AS1.7 is the same the GOD account name for the whole site, you should be okay. But if you used a different name for AS, or a non-GOD account, it will think you are an intruder. That's why you're seeing that "access denied" page.

Use admin.php and use the Admin Menu to "Edit Admins." Check which one is the GOD account. That's the one that has to log in before calling asec.php.
