I have purchased a new server to host my website, and I wanted to double check what files I needed to backup.
I am running ClarkConnect 1.3 (RedHat 7.3), and I have PhpNuke 6.5 installed and working great. I want to transfer all files associated with PhpNuke 6.5 to the new server.
So far, I am thinking that I need to backup the entire /var/www/html/ directory, and the PhpNuke 6.5 database. Should this be enough?
After I copy the files over, I presume I will just "rebuild" the mysql database and PhpNuke 6.5 whould work properly.(?) I have a backup of the database using the backup utility built into PhpNuke.
Is there any tutorials/links/HowTos for moving an installation of PhpNuke 6.5 and the database?
Also, any comments/suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Cody

Yes on the HTML files. An even easier way for the mysql data is to backup your /usr/local/mysql/var directory. Then you don't have to rebuild the databases. Back them up as a precaution anyway, but these are the raw files and can be copied right over. Make sure your server is shut down so no open transactions are taking place. Your location may be different, but this is the standard location.
I am using ClarkConnect 1.3 (RedHat 7.3), and I don't have the /usr/local/mysql/var directory. There is probably an easy solution to this, but I can't seem to find the right directory. I have the /usr/local/mysql/ directory; however, I only have directories such as "english", "czech", "danish", etc within the directory. The var directory is not within english.
Thanks,
Cody

Is this your server or are you hosted? If you're hosted then you won't have access. Otherwise, do a search for whatever your database is called. in other words, if your database is called 'nuke', the try a whereis or a locate on 'nuke'.
