I have been currently working on a script that allows visitors to have free web space on my domain name. This script creates the folder and appropiate files for them to start working on their new space right away.

This works ok on my development site. I tried to use this script on another of my site, which is a php-nuke site and was planning to intregrate this into phpnuke.

The problem I am having is I have permission denied in creating the folder and the files. Do I need to activate a php function on the server that allows me to get this script working?

If so, how do I activate this function? Do I need to ask the hosting company to activate this for me?

Thanks

The parent folder needs to be set to 777 if it isn't already. That's the first question I have.

The signup script is in the root directory. The script creates a folder the visitor wants to name and its gets chmod to 777.

As I said earlier this script works fine on another server and the path name has been renamed and all database connection.
