Protector System 1.15.b2 & Nuke 7.3

Okay, the install instructions that came with it din't list Nuke 7.3 installs... So I gave it my best attempt...

I guess it works, well to a point...

Admins login and see nothing, except logout button, even on the God account and Super Users... So what did I do wrong?

the ps_checker.php shows up clean.?

Please help! Best thing, if not only good instructions would be preHacked files for the install...

Check your permissions on the folders and files you uploaded for protector, this is the most likely cause of the issue.

There other reason why this may occur is if you didn't follow the steps in the exact order explained in the Install instructions.

Anyway, I would check the permissions and if this is correct, just repost and I'll give you some other thoughts on what else you might try to correct the problem.

BTW, did you install anything else other than 7.3 and Protector in this installation?

Just the basic 7.3 pack... No MODed files.

I did it all exactly as the install README directed...

ps_upload folder set to 777 ...

Anyother ideas? Rolling Eyes

Oh one other thing: bbb.php

When I call this file it returns and error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: is_admin() in /hsphere/local/home2/mysite/mysite.com/bbb.php on line 6

It sounds like you have an incorrectly installed Protector. Try removing protector and see if the issue goes away.

One final note here:

I can't tell you how many people I hear complaining about issues when it comes to PHP-Nuke 7.3.

You may want to consider going back to 7.2 as I have found it to be without a lot of the problems of 7.3

I also saw the issue you are describing with the bbb.php when I had 7.3 installed. When I went back to 7.2 most of the issues I was seeing went away. Anyway, it's just a thought but I would definately remove protector and see if that takes care of your problem first. Then you can decide whether or not reverting to 7.2 is even necessary.

I doubt 7.3 is the problem. But I would get it patched either way: http://www.nukefixes.com

As to your problem, there is a field that Protector should add to your authors table. Make sure it is there, and that your admin.php and other code is editted correctly.

I have all the fixes in place, and I double checked all the CHMODS, what else might it be?

Anyone have any luck with this?

I'd love to get a copy of the prehacked 7.3 files. Wink

Hello.
I also have Nuke 7.3 and updated to the Protector System 1.15.b2,
and also had problems with it I uninstalled and then went back and installed the Protector System 1.15.b1 and it works great....

my advice, would be to uninstall and then install the 1.15.b1
