In many places just passing the user a cookie without their knowledge and explicit agreement to accept the said cookie is by definition illegal.
You're arguing a mute point. If you have to log into a website, you are accepting the agreement along with the cookie.

Rumour is your site took a beating recently that Sentinel could have easily stopped. Even with the evil "PC-Killer" shut off.
Well, you shouldn't be listening to rumours then. BTW, tell them the mail bombs to a hotmail account were also a wasted effort......but mildly amusing. Jsut so you guys know, they max out at about 29 and all the others are auto deleted.....Nice try though.

Dude get a grip this isn't evil and its certainly not the fourth horseman of the apocolypse as you seem to want everyone to think it is.
Didn't say it was anything like that. I said this particular feature is basically a denial of service attack because it's sole purpose is to knock the "victim" offline.

and frankly if they manage to crash some lamers PC I could care less.
Glad you are aware of at least one difference between the two of us.

You just don't get it do you? Your still trying to make your case dude you don't have one!
Your doing people a real diservice (if any are febble minded enough to follow your advice) here. Are you going to provide better protection for them?
Your not even using PHPNuke so wtf are are you doing giving people advice about what and or how they choose to protect their websites?
As for your hatemail account I have no clue someone mentioned your site had been under a DoS attack by some bot when I couldn't get to your site to read your lovely forum groups. Talk about juvenile!
You have way to much time on your hands if you need to make up gay jokes about people who are out there actually providing good code for the public to use! Is that how you amuse yourself or is this something special you have for the individual? Some sort of fantasy of yours?

Once again for those of you who can't read so well. I disapprove of only one feature in this "package" which does come with the option to turn it on and off at your discretion.
In my opinion, for most people it's like a gun in the hands of a child.
With that being said, I'm telling YOU that if folks come here and ask my opinion, I'm going to give it openly and honestly.

Thank you for that much. Thats all anyone can ask for.
If you haven't really noticed, Brain just likes getting in the last word (or at least try to, for the most part). He continues to use his crappy logic and the same old unsupported points to try to win any over any discussion. It just hasn't happened yet, and I think he's a bit upset. Keep making NC look bad, buddy. We don't mind.
My advice? Just ignore him. Simple as that
Anyway...

This 'gun' needs a 'key' to turn the safety off. Good game though, pal; I truly adore the simile...
How different is a car alarm to Sentinel's PC Killer? Some guy tries breaking into my car, and the siren goes off. Usually they aren't pretty sounding, and they are loud as hell. The thief isn't going to complain about the noise the alarm makes, will he? But there is a good chance of him being deafened (slim chance, but a chance nonetheless). An innocent child and grandmother brush up against the car, and the alarm goes off. What legal actions can they take for my car sounding off to their 'attack', 'hurting' their ittlewittle ears, eh? Probably nothing.
Of course, I can turn the car alarm off to prevent all of the above, just like anyone can turn this PC Killer option off. The security system will still kill my starter if someone tries to get in the car, just like someone turning off the PC Killer option and still prevent hacks. So, I have the option of scaring the Rainbow Brite out of my 'attackers', or surprise them when they go in for that attack.
So, the whole point here is that:
You can turn off the feature.
If you don't want to use the feature, don't use it. The author doesn't make the decision... YOU DO.

Oh, and your decision really doesn't weigh any more than anyone elses decision, despite your totallyawesomesweet 'rank' here. Hope you understand that.
