Will fortress die once nukecops is under new ownership. When I say die, I mean as in updates. After all fortress is the best security program I have!

Maybe he is.

If so, all occurences of fortress code are being removed from my Nuke. The point about open source is supposed to be free, I won't use things that make people pay.

I'd go with Sentinel™ Smile

Quite possible that Sentinel may have been hacked already:

I hope fortress doesn't disappear because I actually felt secure with it and I heard some bad things about sential. How is Admin Secure?

I haven't had problems with Sentinel. I have had it running with and without PC killer (depending on what day of the week it is). And as mentioned above, it is FREE, and will continue to be updated.

Admin secure is supposed to be pretty decent as well. I haven't used it myself, but I have heard from other folks that it does the job it's intended to do.

The only problem is, with admin secure the installation is long and then I have to keep re-installing it every time I upgrade nuke. At least fortress took 1 min to install Smile. I'm currently running Protector and Fortress but I guess I'll be getting rid of fortress. What program should I replace Fortress with? I know theres a few but I want to find the one that will do the best job.

What do you mean by PC killer?

He means the most controversial part of the software. With PC Killer enabled, your machine will flood any would be hacker (or an innocent user mistaken as a hacker by the software) with pop-ups until they are knocked offline.

Sort of like a denial of service attack, in my opinion, which makes you just as bad as the hacker.

The “PC Killer” feature may be, as you put it, controversial but I am amazed at how people seem to be avoiding the real issue about Sentinel.

Is it any good? Does it stop hackers getting into your system?

In my opinion, it does its job very well. Now the fact that a lot of people don’t like or agree with one of the features in the program doest matter. Its not like you are forced to use it, it is 100% optional. Not only that but by default when you install it, it is deactivated and will only work if you choose to activate it.

I mean how many features are in other programs like Windows and so on that people might not agree with, like embedding Internet Explorer and so on and not to mention the spy ware that is in most programs, yet people still use them for one reason or another.

My point is this:
Lets get off this whole “Don’t use it because it has this PC Killer feature in it” buzz and lets start asking the questions that matter like, WILL IT PROTECT ME, DOES IT WORK?

If the answers to these questions are YES, then you should use it regardless of all its features, just turn them off if you dont want to use them or dont agree with what they do.

Maybe I'm wrong, but don't most of us who post here often actually have some PHP knowledge? You have the source of the CURRENT version. So if he stopped working on it, how hard is it to pick up where he left off?

Not one of those is an intentional, malicious attack or otherwise illegal activity.

In fact, I'd go as far as to say not one mircosoft product or any feature of their product(s) is designed to cause any type of harm to another user or their PC such as PC Killer was specifically designed to do.

I realize you'd rather talk about how effective the software is or is not, but the simple fact of the matter is that, I for one, do not see any difference between vigilante's and other criminals.

In many places just passing the user a cookie without their knowledge and explicit agreement to accept the said cookie is by definition illegal. This would make how many nukers in violation of this?

But hey like they say BrainSmashR opinions are like A$$holes everyone has one. Your entitled to yours but why do you think everyone wants to hear it?

Rumour is your site took a beating recently that Sentinel could have easily stopped. Even with the evil "PC-Killer" shut off.

Dude get a grip this isn't evil and its certainly not the fourth horseman of the apocolypse as you seem to want everyone to think it is.

As its popularity increases I'm sure people will find more creative ways to make use of the information it gathers and frankly if they manage to crash some lamers PC I could care less.

If it happens to be an inoccent zombie (which there is no such thing in my opinion) oh well maybe the user will wake up and update the dayum thing! Perhaps even by a legal copy of XP so they can get all the updates.

Your like the pie eyed piper dude running around talking trash just because your idol couldn't handle some real competition. You've gone on and on about this one topic for how many versions now? I happen to be privelidged enough to be testing Sentinel V2 right now and brother it rocks!
