When I need to edit a user it would be great to be able to edit the user's profile AND permissions all from one screen without needing to go back and forth between two different screens.
Also would like to have a listbox with all of the users listed so I can just select the user I want to edit instead of typing the name (though I want the option to be there if I want to type it in).. Just that some people are spelled a bit strangely and using the lookup function all the time becomes cumbersome.
Not to mention COMBINE THE PROFILES so there is only one profile, not one in php Nuke portal and one in the phpbb forums. - See my other post regarding how confusing that is.

The combining profiles suggestion has already been suggested, but I know what you mean!
I do think that the lookup function should be updated, though.
How EXACTLY would you like like to see this done? (and keep in mind the really big sites with tens of thousands of users)
I guess the most practical thing would be for the phpbb2 mod to inert some additional fields in the php-nuke user's profile and then any links or values in the forums would use the php-nuke profile. This way we'd have a single profile to deal with, a single "GROUPS" area, ranks, etc.,
