ok guys i am havingf a problem here my router has a built in fire wall and its being a damn queer and i have lost my passowrd to edit my firewall and router options and i dont want to reset it cause i dont have the know how i have a d-link di-804 if any one knows how i can get around this to serve my website to the public (i am using apache mysql and php)
can any one help me, i think i need something called a proxypass is there such a thing and how can i get my grubby paws on it???????

u still need to set ur router up to allow port 80 through to the PC running the web site.
Now, what I suggest u do is reset ur router, and WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN as you do it so next time something goes wrong, it'll only take half hour to get it going again.

lol you make it sound so simple it to bad my iq ias the same as the room temp in the artic circle... well my big proble comes in , where i no longer have the pass to get the options and details to write them down so ????? yeah about to blow a fuse and bust this pc open on the pavement in down town durham....lol well if you have any bright ideas call me...lol

m8, I know living in durham ain't nowt to be proud of, but there's no need to blow a gaskit
now. take it from me as a fully qualified engineer of computers and networks that there's no way that you're going to be able to serve your site through ur firewall and router unless port 80 is routed - by your router - to the computer serving the web site.
