It's trivial to un-ban yourself: simply use phpMyAdmin to delete a row containing your IP/username from nuke_blocked. It's not brain surgery Smile

As you know, the latest version of Protector is still beta, and as such there's bound to be some minor bugs. Kudos to Mister for fixing them very quickly, this software is becoming better every day.

Thanks for the tip, I'll keep it in mind for the future. At the time it would have been brain surgery for moi- if not for djmaze and Phoenix- but I've learned a lot getting myself into and out of fixes like this. I agree the Protector is a great idea... let's just remember that a lot of nuke webmasters and webmistresses are still in the beta stage themselves. Smile

I was sorry to remove the Protector but there was no other way to re-access my admin panel. It'd be good if there were a function so admins can't accidentally ban themselves.

Well there is, any Protected ip can't be banned and don't try to hack yourselves Wink

Well, Mister, I was happy to put back on the Protector, and I'm being real careful not to hack myself. Smile

The protected IP is only useful if your IP is always the same, and mine isn't.

With all the php-nuke sites being attacked lately, I think it pays to put your site to the test before someone else does it for you, and creates a lot more work for you.

Having said that, it also pays to know how to get out of trouble before you do it. Like with Protector, as mentioned above, use phpmyadmin to remove the blocked row.
