I am using PHPNuke 6.5 (upgraded from 6.0) on a Linux system with PHP 4.2.3.

Users who create a new account get entered into the nuke_users_temp table just fine but NOBODY is recieving thier activation emails. I tried to create some test accounts and I too never recieved any of the confirmation emails.. EXCEPT when I registered with an email under the same domain name as the my website. No other emails seemed to work for me and I have many users sitting in the queue now waiting to become members.

Other information that could help is:

- I upgraded last week from phpnuke 6.0 and everything was working fine then.

- Emails are also not being recieved on responces in the forums or for PM notifications.

- The flashing message icon for when you have a new PM and are logged in no longer appears (no idea if that is related or not).

- I have the correct Default POP3 SMTP settings in the Admin -> preferences and have tried both with Yes and No checked for based on single account. (under 6.0 it was checked to no with those settings and worked fine).

- In phpbb Configure I also have the correct SMTP settings and have tried it with both Yes and No selected for Use SMTP Server for email (with the correct user information as well)

- the URL for my site is http://www.swg-datapad.com/,

- The url for analyze is http://www.swg-datapad.com/analyze.php

- I have
Code:
From php.ini
    [SMTP] => Array
        (
            [global_value] => localhost
            [local_value] => localhost
            [access] => 7
        )

    [sendmail_path] => Array
        (
            [global_value] => /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i
            [local_value] => /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i
            [access] => 4
        )

These settings seem to be ok and this file hasn't changed.

- This seems to be a problem other people are having however no solution is present that I can find. The URLs for threads of people with similar problems that I've found are at:

http://phpnuke.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=5130&highlight=email+sending

I've seen some forum reports that some providers changed the phpfunction from mail() to email(), however this is not a problem in my case and doesn't not seem to be a problem in most cases.

This is a big problem for my site. Thanks in advance for any insignt, effort, or help.

Still searching the web for an answer and wanted to pass on something that could be related to the overall problem, I'm not sure though.

As I said above one of the overall symptoms I listed was no email notifications of Private Messages.

Well I applied the PM fix file at Nukeresources (http://www.nukeresources.com/files/pmindex.zip) and now I get email notices of PMs.

Still have the user registration email problem which is the big one, but I wanted to pass this on because I don't know if they are related or not.

please search our forums. A solution to this has already been suggested elsewhere.
