Have been away from the phpnuke seen for a while just set up a new site using 8.1 installed fine had to modifie the mainfile.php to get the forums admin page to show up right by changing the include pathes in the mainfile.php line 920 and line 845 from include("config.php"); to include(INCLUDE_PATH."config.php"); wich solved this problem

have set the forums up no problems and posted first message after post i noticed i only had header and side menu and the post has disapperd
went back to forum home and its in the forum but when you click on it just doesent show the message just blank any ideas as i want to get my site up and running today.
oh forgot to menchion that i also updated the forum to latest version to see if that would correct the problem but no joy there.
