I apologize right off the bat if this is the incorrect forum to post this in. I read the forum descriptions and didn't see one specifically related to converting an existing (heavily modified) phpbb to nuke.

I downloaded this mod so I could import an already existing phpbb forum into a new installation of nuke 7.9. Everything proceeds fine until getting to the point of:

Before running this option consider the following:
Your first move should be to backup your current database tables

Import your phpBB database tables into PHP-Nuke database tables:
· Import.

When I click import, I get a blank page for the installation. Any assistance in correcting this is appreciated.

What mod did you download? And are you already protecting your site using something like nuke sentinel ? Also, what version of phpbb standalone are you currently using?

Check your database tables and see if anything has been altered yet. Also, I am sure that Evaders made a script for something like this .

Thanks, hue Smile That seemed to have worked except for one part and it's the one part I really need it to work on, lol. This what the script said:

Quote:

Inserting phpBB forums data into phpNuke
Error inserting data from phpbb_forums to nuke_bbforums - Column count doesn't match value count at row 1

Error inserting data from phpbb_groups to nuke_bbgroups - Column count doesn't match value count at row 1

Error inserting data from phpbb_search_results to nuke_bbsearch_results - Table 'kzukxsbo_nuke1.phpbb_search_results' doesn't exist

Error inserting data from phpbb_search_wordlist to nuke_bbsearch_wordlist - Table 'kzukxsbo_nuke1.phpbb_search_wordlist' doesn't exist

Error inserting data from phpbb_search_wordmatch to nuke_bbsearch_wordmatch - Table 'kzukxsbo_nuke1.phpbb_search_wordmatch' doesn't exist

I can add the ones that don't exist easily enough. But, for the forums? I don't know what wouldn't match, so forgive me if I'm about to ask a few stupid questions.

1. Is that because the forum in the nuke is version 2.0.17 and not 2.0.22? Do I need to manually upgrade the nukebb from 2.0.17 to 2.0.22 first then run the script again?

2. Is it because the forum I'm trying to convert is heavily modified?

You're assistance is truly appreciated Smile

Find BBToNuke 2.0.18 to 2.0.21 and run that update , then try and run the converter again . Now , this is the update for the boards , Not for php-nuke itself
Try this one http://www.nukeresources.com/downloadview-details-1098-BBtoNuke_2.0.18.html

Quick question before proceeding further in this rather large endeavor. Once everything is done and - provided the conversion went without a hitch - can I then remove the phpbb databases from the one the nuke is sharing with the existing forum?

You might want to hang on to it , just incase you need to get back into some of the tables and get data .
MydnyteSyn, what version of phpbb are you currently running? I have been assuming that you are running 2.0.22 , if so , the goal would be to ahve the same version on your nuke site as well . Thus, you would have to run a few more update after this one .

Yes, the currently existing forum is version 2.0.22. I found the other bb to nuke versions to get it upgrade from the 2.0.17 in the nuke to 2.0.22 and have downloaded those. I'm still waiting for the search_wordmatch to finish transferring over (its a huge file).

Then I was going to do the upgrades, then run the converter tool again.

Am I doing this in the correct order?

Also, can I open up the existing forum's sql files in a word editor and change all occurrences of phpbb to nukebb, then insert the data into the nuke database for the forum?

Is the search wordmatch a necessary database to transfer over? I mean, is it something that affects posts and such?

No, it only affects the searching of posts
