I run PHPnuke 7.8 and GT-Nextgen, and I finally got it working.

How?

APPARENTLY, first I had to add "rewritebase /" to my .htaccess as 1&1 webhosting is evil.

Then, I had to also for some reason NOT make the necessary changes to my "sessions.php". If I don't, my forums go invisible.

When I left out the changes, everything works perfectly. Is there anything important in the sessions.php changes?

No, those changes aren't necessary. They only help when robots crawl your site... as they won't see the session id at the end of the link
