I tried to research this, to see what I should update on my site, and what is the newest version I can do.
Here is the deal, I have phpnuke version 6.8 and I know I just have to bite teh bullet and update, but the problem is that when I update I dont know what updates that I have done will work. It has been so long since I have installed them, i dont even remember them all.
Coppermine Photo Gallery is the most important module I have on my site, so i definately need that, I know that teh developement on it has stopped, as far as I know. I have Coppermine Photo Gallery v1.2.2b-Nuke. I defiantely need to install some update on the photo gallery, but I dont know what is the newest version that I can install that would work with phpnuke. I dont want the two to conflict.
So does anyone know what is the newest version of phpnuke I can install that will work with the newest version of coppermine, it would be great if someone could help me.
I am willing to pay someone to upgrade the two for me, just give me an offer, because I am not sure how long that would take and how much work that is.
ALSO i want to install a calender on my site, where MEMBERS as well as I could put in special dates, like birthdays parties and stuff. Any suggestions on the best one for phpnuke nuke, and I am also willing to pay someone to install it for me.
I could send the money instantly via paypal.
CAn anyone help me ? Thank !

Ok, I've read version 7.7 and 7.8 are out but.... you need to go to nukescripts.net and read ravens reviews on this. I use 7.6 platinum, lots of bells and whistles already installed but... it also has bugs. I was able to move my coppermine over very easily. The forums were a bit tougher.
It has a nice calendar already installed and a nice shopping cart already installed and lots of other nice features.
My suggestion (this is what I did) I loaded up the new version locally and then started moving / replacing my original database slowly. It took me about 2 weeks but when I was done there were very few problems and the site went live pretty much without a hitch.
Whatever version you do decide to go to I do recommend doing all the work locally and then when your satified make the change.

you said you use 7.6 platinum, who released it and what kind of bugs are we talking about ?
what about the forum, how long did it take for you to get that baby working ?
what version of coppermine do you have ? and what is teh newest version that can be found, that will work seamlessly with phpnuke.
mine is extremely outdated, but is the main attraction on my site.
thanks for the help

My coppermine version is Module's Version: 1.2.2-nuke and it went over easily. It was just a matter of moving the folders and sql.
I got phpnuke platinum from here http://www.techgfx.com/ I'm not sure it is different from phpnuke 7.6 except it has a lot of features and modules already installed in the package.
If I remember correctly on the forums the first thing I did was to make sure both were patched to the same level (version #)
After installation of 7.6 I exported my forums sql, no tables, just inserts.
In my old version I had some fields that were not in the new version (due to a module I had put in) I had to get a few of the bb tables to match old tables either by adding or removing fields. Once that was done it was rather smooth except there was one or two missing phpbb templates which I simply copied and dropped into the folder.
The other bugs were minor and easily corrected.
Again I think it is best to this locally before publishing to your web. Also don't forget to make both file and sql backups of your site -- just in case.
