I hope this is the right place for my problem. I've had this problem for a few months now. There's one nuke site that I used to visit very often and now I get the "the page cannot be displayed" everytime I try to visit the site. Don't have any trouble with it from other computers, only the one at home. I checked the blocking list and my IP didn't seem to be on it. I emailed the owner of the site but she said that maybe I have a firewall problem or something. I did everything, turned the firewall off and on ...cleaned my computer from temporary files and etc. Nothing works. It's strange because it worked just fine before. It seems as I can access every other nuke site but that one.
Many thanks in advance. |

Try using a different browser. If the problem site has gzip compression on its forums enabled, some browsers (well, mostly IE ) cannot display them correctly. |

I tried Mozilla, same problem. When I go to the website trough cache the fonts and colors are different and the pictures are not showing. Is using a different computer the only option for me?
Thank you |

I'm using Firefox on Windows 2000, and could view the site just fine. Can you tell us what OS and browser you are using? Running ZoneAlarm or another firewall? |

I'm using Firefox/W2K Pro and it looks fine to me, too! Out of curiosity, are you running Windows XP SP2, by any chance?
I've read scores of complaints about <this or that thing> not working for <this or that user> and most of the time the common denominator is they are running XP SP2.
Just a thought... |

I'm using Internet Explorer on Windows XP Service Pack 2 with a Windows firewall. I also have F-Secure Internet Security (I've had it for a year now). Could SP2 be the reason? Unfortunately I don't remember if the site stopped working for me after I upgraded to SP2.
I knew you could view the site. My computer seem to be the only one in the world that can't access that website. And that is the only website I can't access. This is so strange. |

Ah, IE and XP/SP2 -- don't ya just love 'em? No wonder I am usually on Liinux ...
Is the keanu site running its forums with gzip compression on? You'll need to ask the admin.
I will bet you that the combination of the XP firewall and the F-Secure is fouling it up, either way. Seems to me that running F-Secure means the XP firewall is redundant and you should probably disable the XP firewall. (M$ in its rush to make its products secure managed also to break users' access to some favorite sites -- not just nuke sites.)
Try running just F-Secure and see if the situation changes. |

I just sent an email to the administrator. Waiting for reply.
I actually just uninstalled SP2, not because of the website but simply because I didn't like it. I turned the Windows firewall off and I still can't access the website |

Got an email from the administrator. She suggested I would use a proxy server with another IP number. And guess what, it worked! |
