I'm taking over duties on a website that's very stuck on using the old fashioned Fong device as a message board. You know, the one written in Perl that creates .html files for every message with the subjects, posters, etc, hard-coded in.
What I've been looking for to no avail is a PHPnuke friendly board that looks like that one and that operates like that one, but is more like this board under the hood. They don't need the bells and whistles of BBCode or Emoticons--they just want to post fast-loading text messages, mostly, some with an occasional image or link. I don't want my users to really notice a difference, but I want to pull their userinfo from the Nuke database. I want any posts that they make to count towards their points totals.
I know this is a big request, but any help, any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
